Learn Quran in Ramadan is the best thing to do in this holy month to invest in ourselves, in our religion, Islam.
Ramadan is the most sacred month of the year in Islam when Muslims fast, abstain from pleasures, read the Quran, and pray to get closer to Allah (SWT).
Ramadan & Quran
The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur’an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey – then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.
Quran [2:185]
Ramadan is closely connected to the Quran. It’s the holy month in which the Quran was revealed to the prophet Mohammed (PBUH), guidance for humanity, and clear proofs of guidance and criterion.
The Quran was revealed specifically in the night of decree (night of power or Laylat al-Qadr) of Ramadan. It’s the best night of the year and worshipping Allah (SWT) on this night is better than worshiping for a thousand months.
As proof of the significance of this special night in Ramadan & its relation to the Quran, Allah (SWT) sent down a complete Surah in Quran about this night titled “Al-Qadr”.
According to this solid connection between Quran and Ramadan, Muslims should read the Quran as much as possible this month. Actually, they should complete the entire Quran in the 30 days of the month of Ramadan.
Importance of Learning Quran During Ramadan
Worshiping Allah (SWT) during the month of Ramadan carries greater benefits than any other month of the year. In this regards, our prophet Muhammad (PBUH) says:
Whoever fasted the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith and hoping for reward, then all his past sins will be forgiven, and whoever stood for the prayer on Laylat al-Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for reward, then all his previous sins will be forgiven.
Sahih al-Bukhari 2014
One of the most significant acts of worshiping Allah (SWT) is learning the Quran. Ibn ‘Abbas narrates that the Angel Jibreel used to meet the Prophet (PBUH) every night in Ramadan and study the Quran with him.
Learn Quran in Ramadan is extremely important, involving unique opportunities & benefits for all Muslims:
- The prophet Muhammad (PBUH) told us that whoever reads a letter from the Holy Quran will have a reward multiplied by 10. So what better opportunity do we have than learning the Quran during this month?!
- During the blessed month of the Qur’an, the devils are chained up. So you are more capable to neglect all flimsy excuses that were keeping you from learning the Quran.
- Ramadan is a great opportunity to earn the habit of reading the Quran on a daily basis.
- Quran learning is an obligation for all Muslims, men or women, young or old. And learning Quran during Ramadan will make this task much easier.
- Learning The Holy Quran in Ramadan is a big step towards Paradise (Jannah).
- The Noble Quran will intercede for Muslims on the Day of Judgment.
- The Quran is guidance in every matter of life or towards the straight path.
How To Learn Quran in Ramadan 2020?
Normally, you or your kids can learn Quran in many different ways such as taking Quran classes in a near mosque or Islamic center. You may also hire a private Quran tutor to teach Quran for you or your kids.
Unfortunately, this year’s Ramadan (2020) will be a bit different, as the Coronavirus outbreak means that many people will not be able to visit the local mosque, Islamic center, or even host a private Quran tutor at home. This is because of worldwide ‘lockdowns’ which are helping to stop the spread of the disease.
Accordingly, the ideal solution to learn Quran during the Coronavirus pandemic is to learn Quran online.
There are many websites offer online Quran classes where you or your kids can get Quran education at home safely from Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.
